Anor Aflame Contrasts of the sacred and sorrowful make a fitting tribute to the reformer.
Favorite track: Die Mordischen und Reubischen Rotten der Bawren.
hallowedground777 thumbnail
hallowedground777 An interesting amalgamation of atmospheric black metal, gregorian chant and folk rock/metal rolled into one concept album creating a sonic soundscape that is extremely listenable. Favorite track: Aletheia.
akunderhile thumbnail
akunderhile This is an awe-inspiring work. The seamless melding of such disparate elements is amazing. Favorite track: Augsburg.
Vapour Lemuel
Vapour Lemuel thumbnail
Vapour Lemuel The entire album sounds like it's bursting to tell an important story. For the one who stops to listen, they will be enthralled by the delivery and passage the story travels. Favorite track: Metanoia.
Raemar thumbnail
Raemar This is a sincerely profound, focused, & compelling account. The vocals are the highlight; from exquisite growls to rich, pitch-perfect polyphony, the story enfolds. His obviously is a trained voice, because he knows how to use it, and eloquently so. Beautiful album, from beginning to end; a story sung captivatingly well.
Matt Richardson

Matt Richardson This is a stunning work. Polyphonic chants, aided by traditional instruments and percussion, lend this album an ancient almost “untouchable” quality. This is combined with mostly mid tempo atmospheric black metal to great effect, with the occasional use of potent blasting sections. Overall this is highly recommended for any atmospheric metal fan, especially those that enjoy traditional or esoteric influence. Favorite track: Ich Kann Nicht Anders.

Salve Regina 03:57

Metanoia 05:44
I beseech thee for grace I cry out with covered face Sleepless lamentation neath the morning star Against thee have I sinned Gone astray and sown the wind Mine iniquities before me ever are Why dost thou hold out Christ, And deny us paradise? Who can stand before the righteous uncondemned? Born into Adam’s seed Into filth and desperate need And no pow’r of will with which my soul to mend By my works I must fail Only reprobation’s wail Can I offer now thy mercy to arouse Christ for his chosen hath Borne the weight of holy wrath How then shall my soul be one that he avows? Take thou heed, o my soul He may render yet thee whole In no other mayest thou thyself betrust Thou art stone, thou art cold Yet for thy sake be thou bold And descry that faith by which shall live the just
Aletheia 06:51

Gott helfe mir.

Augsburg 10:03

On October 31, 1517, a pamphlet was nailed to the door of a church in a small German town, setting in motion a violent upheaval that would augur both staggering glories and fatal decadence over the coming centuries.

FESTE BURG tells this story.

Daher kann und will ich nichts widerrufen...
